Born in India, Harmit Singh now sits at the helm of a multi-billion-dollar American apparel company.

Singh, who joined Levi Strauss in 2013, has been working as the company's Chief Financial Officer for the last decade. During this time, he’s been instrumental in taking the iconic brand public. Among his numerous ongoing CFO duties, Singh is responsible for managing the company’s global information technology and financial functions – including financial planning, accounting, tax, risk management, treasury, and internal audit. On top of that, in January of 2023, the busy executive added another title to his impressive resume: Chief Growth Officer. This expanded his responsibilities to include taking charge of Levi Strauss's Corporate Strategy division, as well as its Global Retail Real Estate division.

A seasoned financial executive, Singh has nearly three decades' worth of experience driving growth at companies that serve consumers in the hospitality, restaurant, travel, and financial industries. Before joining Levi Strauss, he served as CFO of Hyatt Hotels, where he successfully established a global financial structure and took the company public. Prior to Hyatt, Singh held various global leadership roles at Yum! Brand foods, the world’s largest restaurant company. His time at Yum! includes serving as CFO of Pizza Hut, where he was tasked with leading finance and technology for a $1.6 billion business with 7,500 restaurants in the U.S. Early in his career, Singh also worked at American Express India and PwC in India.

Away from the office, Singh is a strong advocate for giving back to the community. In 2019, he joined the Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) project, helping to establish the U.S. chapter of the organization and mobilize other prominent financial leaders to promote the business case for sustainability. In 2021, he was named the U.S. Co-chair of A4S. He is also a proud member of the CNBC Global CFO Council, the Wall Street Journal CFO Network, and World 50 – a private community for C-level executives at globally respected organizations. In the past, Singh has served on the boards for OpenText and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Singh, who is a regular speaker at Harvard Business School, received a Bachelor of Commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University.
