While Welch's tenure has just begun, his track record of leadership at companies suggests that Talkdesk has a lot to look forward to.

Previously, Welch was a driving force behind the success of IronNet, Duo Security and Zscaler, holding executive leadership positions at each of these companies. Most recently, he spent three years as Co-CEO at IronNet Cybersecurity, a leading enterprise cybersecurity provider in the industry. Before that, he served as COO and president of Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Duo Security, where he successfully completed a $2.4 billion cash transaction with Cisco.

Welch found similar success at Zscaler, a cloud-based network security company. As COO, he was responsible for Zscaler’s global sales, channel, operations, customer care and strategy. Under his leadership, the company saw dramatic growth, including a 4x expansion in employees and a 5x expansion in revenues. Ultimately, Welch helped take Zscaler public in the IPO that led to the company’s current ~$6 billion market capitalization.

Prior to his time at Zscaler, Welch was VP and general manager for HP Software Americas, where he oversaw more than $2 billion in sales to Global 1000 companies. He also spent six years at Symantec. There, he served as VP of Sales Specialists in the Americas and drove the integration of emerging technologies into Symantec’s product set, while also helping to scale the company’s high-growth sales effort.

Welch, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Political Science from La Salle University, is also an advocate of giving back to the community. For the past four years he's volunteered as an independent director for Logikcull. He even currently serves as an advisor to Ecosystems.
