Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of VF Corporation Matt Puckett is in charge of managing the financials of the $9 billion company behind brands such as Vans, The North Face, Dickies, and Supreme. Puckett, who is also part of the company’s Executive Leadership Team, stepped into the role in May 2021. Reporting directly to VF’s CEO, Steve Rendle, Puckett's expertise has been invaluable to the company as he guides its ongoing expansion into the direct-to-consumer business, among many other initiatives.

While Puckett may be relatively new to the executive suite, he certainly isn't new to the company, which has a long history of selecting internal candidates for top positions. Puckett has more than two decades' worth of experience at VF, joining the group in 2001 as a senior accountant. Since then, he has held a series of finance roles with increasing responsibility. This includes serving as CFO of VF’s sportswear division, which managed the brands Nautica (sold in 2018) and Kipling.

In 2011, following the company’s acquisition of Timberland, Puckett became the brand’s CFO and was a key player in guiding it through the tricky process of integration at VF. Based on this success, in 2015 he was promoted to CFO of VF International. This involved him moving to the company’s European HQ in Stabio, Switzerland, from where he was responsible for the management of the company’s financials in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions. In 2019 he returned to the U.S., this time serving as VF’s VP of Global Financial Planning and Analysis until he was promoted to his current position of CFO for the entire parent company.

Speaking to the strengths of Puckett's leadership, CEO Steve Rendle said, “Matt’s VF career has given him a broad range of experience in all facets of financial management, and he deeply understands our company and financial model from his experience working within our brands, our business units, and across international markets. Matt is a clear example of VF’s robust succession planning approach, and there’s no one more qualified than him to serve in the CFO position as we pursue the next phase of the VF growth strategy.”

Puckett graduated from the University of Virginia's College at Wise, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting.
