There's no denying that Jane Lauder comes from good stock. Her father served as U.S. Ambassador to Austria and was also President of the World Jewish Congress. Meanwhile, her grandparents Estée Lauder and Joseph Lauder were the co-founders of The Estée Lauder Companies, a cosmetics empire that has provided the perfect place for their granddaughter to show her talents as a business leader.

Lauder has been a part of the family business for more than 25 years. She joined the company in 1996, a year after graduating from Stanford University. From there, she began steadily working her way up the company hierarchy. Career milestones include spearheading the creation and launch of the American Beauty and Flirt! brands. Adding to these formative experiences, she oversaw the positioning, product development, and creative direction for both brands.

Having sufficiently cut her teeth in the cosmetics business, Lauder was ready for her next challenge. In 2006, she was promoted to Clinique's Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, where she led the brand’s overall strategic marketing and positioning. Her success was recognized in 2008 with another promotion: Brand President for the Origins, Ojon, and Darphin brands. During the next six years, Lauder's leadership and vision led to the global expansion of Origins and the launch of Plantscription™ Serum, the brand’s greatest success story. Later, Lauder served as Clinique's President of Global Brand, where her many achievements included tripling the company's online business.

Then, in 2020, after more than two decades of proving her mettle, Lauder finally moved into the corporate suite of The Estée Lauder Companies. As the beauty giant's first-ever Enterprise Marketing and Chief Data Officer, Lauder is currently responsible for all company strategy – with a focus on generating growth through data and digitally-driven initiatives.

Lauder, who has served on Estée Lauder's board of directors since 2009, has also served on the board of Eventbrite, the ticketing and event technology company, since 2018. A resident of New York City, she additionally sits on the board of trustees for the New York Public Library and the board of directors of Friends of the High Line.
