This year’s awardees carry impressive track records in organizations across nearly all industries making impactful changes to the environment, food production, transportation, education, manufacturing, employment, and so much more.

Awardee Aaron Myers, CTO of Suited, has spent years developing a deep understanding of the human biases that plague the hiring process and has used his expertise to co-found an AI-based recruiting start-up that eliminates some of the hiring challenges of today. Meanwhile Abe Askenazi, the CTO of Zero Motorcycles, is using his passion for engineering and love for motorcycles to lead the company in manufacturing 100% electric motorcycles to significantly reduce CO2 and noxious fumes emissions while also saving oil reserves. Awardee Sri Viswanath is making his mark as the CTO of Atlassian, guiding the company with their well-known product portfolio of software like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Trello, forever changing the way teams around the world work together as one.

1. Zulfikar Jeevanjee

Zulfikar Jeevanjee is the Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of CVS Health. He first joined the company in 2021. CVS Health is the leading health solutions company that delivers care in ways no one else can. They reach people in more ways and improve the health of communities across America through their local presence, digital channels and nearly 300,000 dedicated colleagues, including more than 40,000 physicians, pharmacists, nurses and nurse practitioners.

Previously, Jeevanjee was an SVP of enterprise architecture and innovation at Allstate. Before that, he spent 11 years with Wells Fargo in various roles including SVP, CTO and chief architect and is the co-founder of ITSC Inc. and Ixion Software. He first got his start in 1990 as a manager with Price Waterhouse Management Consultants. Jeevanjee graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and computer science.

 

2. Ryan Burkhardt
Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer, BurkCo Labs
Cornell University

Ryan Burkhardt is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of BurkCo Labs. He founded the company in 1993. BurkCo Labs invests in startups focused on solving tough problems in cyber security and health. They also focus their time on providing agile and innovative technology and leadership consulting and coaching. In addition to his roles with BurkCo Labs, Burkhardt is the director of engineering with Apple

Previously, Burkhardt was a VP of engineering at GoDaddy and before that was a partner and senior director of engineering with Microsoft. Earlier in his career he worked with Goldman Sachs as an IT analyst. Burkhardt earned an undergraduate degree in computer science from Cornell University.

 

3. Ray Bajaj
SVP & Chief Technology Officer, Cardinal Health
Columbia University

Ray Bajaj began his professional career 25 years ago. Today, he is the SVP and Chief Technology Officer at Cardinal Health. Cardinal Health is a distributor of pharmaceuticals, a global manufacturer and distributor of medical and laboratory products, and a provider of performance and data solutions for healthcare facilities. With operations in more than 30 countries and approximately 44,000 employees globally, Cardinal Health is essential to health care.

Bajaj first got his start in 1997 as a technology development manager and software engineer at Cambridge Technology Partners, Oracle. From there, he went on to Ford Motor Credit before eventually rising to become a managing vice president at Capital One, his most recent position prior to joining Cardinal Health. Bajaj graduated from Columbia University in the City of New York with an MS in management and information technology and from Michigan State University with an MBA in strategy, product development and integrative management.

 

4. Steve Fernandez
Global Chief Technology Officer, AIG
Northwestern University

Steve Fernandez began his professional career 26 years ago. Today, he is the Global Chief Technology Officer of AIG. AIG provides a wide range of property casualty insurance, life insurance, retirement solutions, and other financial services to support their clients in business and in life through our general insurance, life & retirement, and investments business units. Whether serving those facing natural disasters or millions of Americans striving for a financially secure retirement, they have the specialist expertise to help clients better manage risk.

Fernandez first got his start in 1996 as a manager at Ford Motor Company. From there, he went on to General Electric, before eventually rising to become the global CTO at L'Oréal, his most recent position prior to joining AIG. Fernandez graduated from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business with an MBA and from Northwestern University with an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering.

 

5. Lance Haines
Chief Technology Officer, Schneider Electric
Rice University

Lance Haines is the Chief Technology Officer of Schneider Electric. He first joined the company in 2009 as director of engineering and process improvement. Schneider Electric's purpose is to empower all to make the most of its energy and resources, bridging progress and sustainability for all. It drives digital transformation by integrating world-leading process and energy technologies, end-point to cloud connecting products, controls, software and services, across the entire lifecycle, enabling integrated company management, for homes, buildings, data centers, infrastructure and industries.

Previously, Haines was a senior staff program manager at American Power Conversion and before that an engineering manager at Solectria. Haines earned an MS in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and Spanish from Rice University.

 

6. Kent Helfrich
Chief Technology Officer & Vice President, General Motors
Duke University

Kent Helfrich is the Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of General Motors. He first joined the company in 2016 as an executive director. General Motors’ vision is to create a world with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion, and they have committed themselves to leading the way toward this future.

Previously, Helfrich was a vice president and chief technical officer at Flex and before that an executive director of global electrical systems at General Motors. Earlier in his career he worked with General Motors as a senior project engineer for GM powertrain. Helfrich earned an MBA in international management from Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business and an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from The Ohio State University.

 

7. Vijay Sankaran

Sankaran graduated from Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business with an MBA and from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with an undergraduate degree in mathematics and computer science.

 

8. Jim Carroll

Jim Carroll began his professional career 31 years ago. Today, he is the Chief Technology Officer of Capgemini. Carroll earned an undergraduate degree in political science and government from Harvard University.

 

9. Al Hamid
Global Chief Technology Officer, IBM
The Ohio State University

Al Hamid is the Global Chief Technology Officer of IBM. IBM is a global technology company that provides hardware, software, cloud-based services and cognitive computing. Founded in 1911 following the merger of four companies it has been a leading technology company across the world. Hamid has 33 years in the information technology and services industry. He began his career in 1989.

Before joining IBM, Hamid was a principal at Infotech Systems. Earlier in his career he worked with IRD Mechanalysis as a lead software engineer. Hamid graduated from The Ohio State University with an MS in computer science and from Capital University with an MBA.

 

10. Jamie Voris
Chief Technology Officer, Walt Disney Studios
University of Michigan

Jamie Voris began her professional career 20 years ago. Today, she is the Chief Technology Officer of Walt Disney Studios. From classic animated features and exhilarating theme park attractions to cutting edge sports coverage, and the hottest shows on television, The Walt Disney Company has been making magic since 1923, creating unforgettable stories that connect with audiences around the world.

Voris first got her start in 2002 as a vice president of technology at Playboy Enterprises, before eventually rising to chief technology officer at the National Football League, her most recent position prior to joining The Walt Disney Studios. Voris graduated from the University of Michigan with an undergraduate degree in industrial and operations engineering.

 

11. David Ravichandar
Chief Technology Officer & Solution Architect, Leidos
Oklahoma City University

David Ravichandar is the Chief Technology Officer & Solution Architect of Leidos Company. He first joined the company in 2016 as chief solutions architect & principal investigator. Leidos is a science and technology solutions leader working to address some of the world’s toughest challenges in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and healthcare markets. 13. Daniel Parkes

Earlier in his career he worked with Evant as a senior software engineer. Parkes graduated from Stanford University with a master's degree in computer science and from Harvard University with an undergraduate degree in cognitive neuroscience.

 

14. James Faist

Earlier in his career he worked with the United States Air Force as a captain. Faist graduated from Cornell University with an MS in electrical engineering and from Virginia Military Institute with an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering.

 

15. Aaron Myers

Dr. Aaron Myers is the CTO of Suited, an A.I. powered, assessment-driven recruiting network used by professional services firms to accurately, confidentially, and equitably discover and place early career candidates from all backgrounds into competitive early-stage career opportunities.

Prior to Suited, Myers was the co-founder of another AI-based recruiting start-up, dedicated to removing bias from the recruiting process. During this time, he built products that were able to source and evaluate talent in ways that were predictive of future performance while not unfairly measuring candidates on attributes that cause adverse impact. Myers received his PhD in computational science, engineering, and mathematics from the University of Texas with a focus on building machine learning models.

 

16. Steven Tamm

Steven Tamm began his professional career 25 years ago. Today, he is the Chief Technology Officer of Salesforce. Salesforce brings companies and customers together on the #1 CRM tool. Tamm first got his start in 1997 as a senior software engineer at Calico Commerce. From there, he went on to SAP Markets, before eventually rising to become a principal architect at Salesforce.com, his most recent position prior to becoming CTO. Tamm graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a ME in computer science and electrical engineering.

 

17. Abe Askenazi

Hendrickson earned an undergraduate degree in physics from the University of California - Berkeley.

 

19. Nizar Trigui
Chief Technology Officer, Bridgestone

20. Regis Luther
VP of Engineering & Chief Technology Officer, AM General
The Johns Hopkins University

Regis Luther is the VP of Engineering and the Chief Technology Officer of AM General. AM General designs, engineers, manufactures, supplies and supports specialized vehicles for commercial and military customers. 21. Ramon Felciano

Stanford University

Ramon Felciano is the Chief Technology Officer of QIAGEN. Felciano graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine with a PhD in biomedical informatics and MS in biomedical informatics and from Stanford University with an undergraduate degree in computer science and English & French literature.

 

22. Jeff Pinner
Chief Technology Officer, Lyft
Princeton University

Jeff Pinner is the Chief Technology Officer of Lyft. Lyft was founded in 2012 by Logan Green and John Zimmer to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation and is available to approximately 95 percent of the United States population as well as select cities in Canada. Before joining Lyft, Pinner was a senior staff software engineer at Twitter and before that, a systems engineer at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Pinner graduated from Stanford University with an MS in aeronautics and astronautics and from Princeton University with an undergraduate degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering.

 

23. Sri Viswanath
Chief Technology Officer, Atlassian
Clemson University

Sri Viswanath began his professional career 26 years ago. Today, he is the Chief Technology Officer of Atlassian. Atlassian supports an international group of 170,000+ customers. It builds tools like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Trello to help teams across the world become more nimble, creative, and aligned. Over 200,000+ customers use Atlassian to empower their teams and drive their missions forward.

Viswanath first got his start in 1996 as a software engineer at Siemens. From there, he went on to Sun Microsystems, before eventually rising to CTO and SVP of engineering and operations at Groupon, his most recent position prior to joining Atlassian. Viswanath graduated from Stanford University with an MS in management and from Clemson University with an MS in computer science.

 

24. Carlonda Reilly

Carlonda Reilly is the VP and Chief Technology Officer of Kennametal. She first joined the company in 2018. Reilly earned a PhD in chemical engineering and MS in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware and an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 

25. Diana Pan

Earlier in her career she worked with Remedy as a software engineer. Pan graduated from Columbia University in the City of New York with an MS and an undergraduate degree in computer science.

 

26. Eddie Schutter

Eddie Schutter began his professional career 13 years ago. Today, he is the Chief Technology Officer of Switch. He is a director on the iMasons BOD, executive advisor of the Technical Curriculum Advisory Board for CNET Training, and Engineering Advisory Board for SMU Lyle School of Engineering. Schutter graduated from University of California - Los Angeles with an undergraduate degree in computer technology and computer systems technology.

 

27. Jonathan Siegrist

28. Sydney Lovely

Previously, Lasmanis was a chief information officer at GSK and before that a chief information officer at Stiefel, a GSK company. Earlier in his career he worked with Havas as an architect, for data and analytics. Lasmanis earned an undergraduate degree from Boston College.

 

30. Charles Beadnall
Chief Technology Officer, GoDaddy

Charles Beadnall is the Chief Technology Officer of GoDaddy. He first joined the company in 2013 as the vice president of engineering. GoDaddy helps the world easily start, confidently grow, and successfully run an online presence. GoDaddy was born to give people an easy, affordable way to get their ideas online. Today, it has millions of customers around the world, but its goal hasn't changed.

Previously, Beadnall was a senior director of engineering at Yahoo and before that a VP at Metaweb Technologies, Inc. Earlier in his career he worked with WR Hambrecht + Co as a director of auction operations. Beadnall earned an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University.

 

31. Michael Schmidt

Prior to Segovia, he was the Chief Technology Officer of NextDocs, one of INC500’s top 10 software companies in the country. He began his career at IBM, where he focused on cloud computing and collaboration. Seshasai earned a PhD and MS in engineering systems from MIT and a BS and MEng in computer science from MIT.

Raquel Romano began her professional career 18 years ago. Today, she is the Chief Technology Officer of Threadloom. Threadloom's mission is to restore authenticity to the Internet, beginning with shopping. It's the maker of Primary, a browser extension that takes unfiltered, raw product reviews buried deep in forums all over the web and brings them to shoppers in an easy-to-use interface. Threadloom’s data engine maps billions of forum posts across 100s of thousands of interest categories from over 1,000 forums reaching 100M+ users.

Romano first got her start in 2004 as a postdoctoral researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. From there, she went on to Google, before eventually rising to become the engineering lead at United States Digital Service, her most recent position prior to joining Threadloom. Romano graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a PhD and MS in computer science and from Harvard University with an undergraduate degree in mathematics.

 

95. Max Rye

Christopher Hwang is the Chief Technology Officer of Trancenta. He has over 25 years of experience in development, technology transfer/scale up and manufacturing support. Transcenta is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company that fully integrates antibody-based biotherapeutics discovery, research, development and manufacturing. They are developing nine therapeutic antibody molecules for oncology and selected non-oncology indications including bone and kidney disorders.

Previously, Hwang was the EVP of process and product development at Hangzhou Just Biotherapeutics and before that the head of biomanufacturing at Sanofi. Hwang graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a PhD in biomedical engineering and an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering.

Schutte first got her start in 1993 as an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota. From there, she went on to Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare, before eventually rising to VP of technology at Ideomed, her most recent position prior to joining Kumanu. Schutte graduated from Stanford University with a PhD in mechanical engineering, from Michigan State University with an MS in mechanical engineering and an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering.

 

98. Vincent Furia

Previously, Furia was a director of space operations at Spire Global and before that, a systems engineer at RT Logic. Earlier in his career he worked with Carnegie Mellon University as a network developer. Furia earned an undergraduate degree in discrete mathematics and logic from Carnegie Mellon University.

Laytin has 24 years in the insurance industry. He began his career in 1998.

Before joining FormFire, Laytin was a manager of application development and database administrators at University Hospitals of Cleveland and before that a project development manager at 1 EDI Source, Inc. Earlier in his career he worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a management consultant. Laytin graduated from Northwestern University with an MS in computer information systems and from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with an undergraduate degree in business administration.
